8:30 AM – 12:30 PM
The Beck Group (222 W. 7th Avenue, 3rd Floor, Tampa, FL, 33602)

How can an inexpensive, short-term project create long-term societal change? Guerilla Gardening, Pavement-to-Parks, Reclaim A Parking Space – these are all examples of an exciting trend in urban placemaking commonly referred to as Tactical Urbanism.
Mike Lydon, Principal of The Street Plans Collective, will visit the Tampa Bay are to lead a Tactical Urbanism Workshop alongside local leaders, planners, advocates, and stakeholders. The workshop will provide an overview of tactical urbanism, and will equip workshop attendees with an understanding of how to plan, fund, and implement tactical urbanism projects. Attendees will work together to plan and implement a tactical urbanism intervention for a select opportunity site within the Downtown Tampa workshop location area and will walk away from the workshop with the tools to implement more projects throughout the Tampa Bay Region. 4 AICP Certificate Maintenance credits are pending approval. CNU-A credits are offered as well.
Cost: $25.00
